Nordic Semiconductor Expands nRF91 Series with nRF9151 SiP

Nordic Semiconductor, a trailblazer in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, has introduced the nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP) to embellish its nRF91 Series cellular IoT devices. The nRF9151 emerges as a promising solution for advanced cellular IoT and DECT NR+ applications, offering enhanced power options and a reduced footprint.

This latest addition amplifies Nordic Semiconductor's end-to-end cellular IoT solution, encompassing hardware, software, tools, and nRF Cloud Services. The nRF9151 is a compact, pre-certified, and highly integrated device, encapsulating a System-on-Chip (SoC), power management, and RF front-end - all developed by Nordic Semiconductor.
 

Innovatively designed for increased supply chain resilience, the nRF9151 boasts a remarkable 20% reduction in footprint compared to its nRF91 Series predecessors. This reduction opens up opportunities for more compact products without compromising performance - a boon for wearable devices, smart sensors, and other space-constrained IoT applications. 

One of the standout features of the nRF9151 is its support for Class 5 20dBm output power, in addition to the existing nominal Class 3 23dBm. This enhancement offers developers greater flexibility by alleviating the requirements for battery-powered products, thereby broadening the scope of applications for which the SiP can be utilized. 

With the introduction of the nRF9151, Nordic Semiconductor continues to push boundaries in the realm of cellular IoT devices, delivering advanced capabilities and seamless integration to simplify the development process significantly. The compact size, enhanced power options, and reduced footprint make the nRF9151 a compelling choice for developers seeking cutting-edge solutions for their IoT projects.
